EU citizens did not vote for her, nor did they get a choice of candidates. The European Parliament had the power to reject her, but not the power to choose a different candidate. Calling this a democratic election is stretching the definition A LOT! Also please explain the “Spitzenkandidat system” and why it was rejected in 2019.
