The border services of Estonia and Lithuania submitted a joint application for EU funding to create the so-called “drone wall” along their borders, but the project was not approved, the ministry reported. For now, the two countries are funding the project themselves and are seeking other sources of financial support. According to military officials, the “drone wall” would involve using drones for border surveillance and deploying systems to counter them. Plans were in place to select specific sections of the border in each country for pilot projects.
