Fran “The Lamb” Cunningham was a notorious Dublin criminal known for his involvement in fraud and other illegal activities. He died in May 2024 after accidentally falling from the second floor of his Ballyfermot home while attempting to climb through a window. Cunningham was considered a key figure in Ireland’s underworld, specializing in frauds involving stolen bank drafts, travelers’ cheques, and forged Garda pay cheques. He was convicted in 1999 for a £45,000 fraud, during which he attempted to evade prison by faking a heart attack, and in 2012 for involvement in a €315,000 cigarette van heist. Despite his criminal career, he was described by Gardaí as “slippery like an eel” for dodging convictions through legal technicalities and using others to carry out his schemes. He was associated with prominent criminals like Martin “The Viper” Foley and Noel “Kingsize” Duggan, and was related to John Cunningham, a Kinahan cartel figure
