The “emergency” planning exemptions for IPAS are tearing communities apart across Ireland. Already today (its only 2 o’clock) I’ve received 8 random calls from Drumcondra, Donnybrook, Dundrum, Kells, Clonmel, Mount Street etc. Every conversation, almost identical. They’ve rung Paschal. They wrote to Jim. Their local TD doesn’t want to know. Fobbed off. Whispers about the auctioneer or well-known businessman. Deals done quietly. “Where is the media coverage?” “Why us?” “What’s coming?” They voted FF or FG all their lives. But too scared to speak out. “We’re not racist…” “We’re not far-right…” Just want answers. Only get silence.
