Man arrested after €50,000 worth of jewels nabbed from high-end Dublin store. 3am Arrest.

A man has been arrested following the robbery of €50,000 worth of jewels from a high-end jewellers in Dublin.

The incident, which sparked a major man hunt in the city, occurred at around 2:45am at a retail premises on Kildare Street in Dublin 2, on April 25 .Gardaí from Pearse Street station were swiftly alerted to the scene, where they were told a man had been seen fleeing into St Stephen’s Green park.

After a major search, the suspect was apprehended at approximately 3am, hiding in the bushes.

Speaking on the events, a Garda spokesperson said: ‘On arrival, they encountered a suspect and he fled the scene on foot. He was observed entering St Stephen’s Green park and pursued by gardaí on foot. The man (20s) was apprehended by gardaí in the park and arrested.’

Due to the time of night, the stolen jewels weren’t immediately recovered at the scene.
