Plan of action for Simon Harris: http://1.Call in Iran’s ambassador. Instruct him Iran must direct Hamas, Iran’s terrorist proxies, to immediately unconditionally release all hostages as required over a year ago by the ICC. 2.Inform Iran’s ambassador that Hamas must announce a permanent end to the war, its rule of Gaza & like PIRA, agree to all its arms being decommissioned. 3. Inform the ambassador that Ireland supports a two state solution & Iran must end its antisemitic rhetoric and calls for Israel’s destruction 4. Inform the ambassador that Iranian support for Hezbollah & the Houthis, together with the Houthis targeting of international shipping & Israel with Iranian sponsored ballistic missiles must end as must Iran’s objective of developing nuclear missiles. 5. Inform him that Ireland regards Iran as directly responsible for the ongoing conflict in Gaza & if Ireland’s embassy is to remain open in Tehran Iran must take positive action to end & not exacerbate the conflict. Of course, issuing irrelevant statements critical of Israel for Irish media consumption, ignoring Hamas using civilians as human shields & its insistence that its brutal rule of Gaza be fully re-instated to facilitate it replicate its Oct 7, 2023 atrocities is so much simpler. What is unconscionable & despicable is the Irish government’s selective narrative of the continuing tragedy of the Israel/Gaza war & its persistent failure to acknowledge & criticise the role of Iran as it deepens Ireland’s relationship with its fundamentalist, authoritarian, human rights violating, misogynistic , antisemitic government. Iran it seems is a four letter word that must not be spoken.
