Von Der Liar is in serious trouble. Today, the European Court of Justice will rule on Ursula von der Leyen’s refusal to disclose WhatsApp messages with Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla over a €35B COVID vaccine deal for 1.8B doses. Allegations of corruption, lack of transparency, and bypassing EU procurement rules have haunted her tenure as EU Commission President. As former German Defence Minister, von der Leyen faced scrutiny for “awarding” €100M+ contracts via private texts, deleting messages when investigated, and bypassing public tender processes. The “Pfizergate” scandal, coupled with €4B billion in wasted vaccines, defines her maladministration of our money and an obviously biried conflict of interest. Let’s see if the EU retains a fragment of self-awareness and dignity. Or whether the court rolls over.

@BowesChay The Court has just ruled against her and condemned the commission for withholding her texts. The judgment is likely to have huge repercussions for transparency and accountability in the EU and delivers a massive blow to von der Leyen’s reputation.
