Posted by FACT CHECK: Crooksling IPAS centre is not shutting down. Yes, a statutory instrument around modular units on the site was ruled invalid in court this week. However there are still large buildings on the site which are still in operation. The Govt will likely just re-issue a new valid statutory instrument for temporary structures in coming months. IGO Café no longer operate the site. Trailhead have been appointed. If anything Crooksling will be BIGGER than ever as it’s set to be a key site for the Govt’s new Asylum Pact system.
