Terence Crosbie, a 37-year-old Dublin firefighter, was charged with raping a 28-year-old woman at the Omni Parker House hotel in Boston on March 15, 2024, during St. Patrick’s Day weekend. He was in Boston with the Dublin Fire Brigade for the St. Patrick’s Day parade. The alleged victim reported waking up to Crosbie assaulting her after she had consensual sex with his colleague and fell asleep in a separate bed. Crosbie was arrested on March 16, 2024, at Boston Logan International Airport after attempting to board an earlier flight back to Ireland. He pleaded not guilty to one count of rape and was indicted by a grand jury in May 2024, moving the case to Suffolk Superior Court.

Initially held on $100,000 bail, which was reduced to $10,000 in August 2024, Crosbie remains in custody at Nashua Street Jail, unable to afford bail. His passport was surrendered, and he was ordered to remain in Massachusetts. The prosecution cited his attempt to leave the country and his illegal immigration status due to the flight change as concerns, while his defense argued he was not fleeing but seeking help in Ireland due to legal uncertainties. Crosbie denies any interaction with the victim, claiming he entered the hotel room, got into bed, and saw her leave without contact. The Dublin Fire Brigade placed him on leave and is conducting an internal investigation. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 28, 2025.
