Iran’s truck drivers were the first to start striking but they were soon followed by: – Farmers in Khorasgan, central Iran, staging sit-ins over water rights following violent crackdowns by security forces. – Gas refinery workers in Bushehr, southern Iran, protesting low wages and poor management Crown Prince Pahlavi stressed the importance of transitioning from street protests to nationwide strikes, calling them “the fastest way to paralyze the filthy mullah regime,” explicitly mentioning strikes by oil industry workers and truck drivers in the transportation sector. The Crown Prince’s broader strategy includes fostering defections from within the regime’s military and security forces to ensure a controlled transition with minimal bloodshed. He emphasized the need for Western support, such as funding a “strike fund” using Iran’s frozen assets to sustain civil disobedience movements, including labor strikes.
