I’m genuinely disappointed that Michael McDowell has ruled himself out of the Presidency. In a strong interview in today’s Sunday Independent, he likens the presidency to Crufts. It’s a real shame, because without someone like him, that may be exactly what the race becomes.

I’m genuinely disappointed that Michael McDowell has ruled himself out of the Presidency. In a strong interview in today’s Sunday Independent, he likens the presidency to Crufts. It’s a real shame, because without someone like him, that may be exactly what the race becomes. He was the only truly serious candidate we’ve seen so far. Someone with a deep understanding of the Constitution & the symbolic importance the office carries. What I don’t understand is why so many potential candidates are ruling themselves out. The presidency matters.
