I’m calling for a national moment of reflection across the entire nation, regardless of political affiliations or personal grievances. In November 2023 a migrant stabbed 3 kids outside their school, one of the most heinous crimes Ireland has ever experienced. It changed our country forever. Now we have migrants putting out TikTok videos threatening to “slice” Irish children and babies. Beniamin Petre was brought to court yesterday and held on remand until next week, but we simply cannot accept that. As a country, as a people, we must have certain rules and societal standards that are never broken. Harming women and kids or threatening to harm women and kids is one of those rules that cannot ever be broken. A migrant threatening to harm Irish kids doesn’t deserve to go through our cushy court system and end up with a slap on the wrist. He should be deported from Ireland immediately. This is well within the powers of the Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan. Jim can make that happen tonight if he wants to. I know our country is fractured and a lot of us don’t agree with each other, but we have to be able to agree on this. Migrants who post TikTok videos threatening Irish kids should be removed from our country immediately. We cannot allow this to become normal.
