A MAN AND a woman have been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Blanchardstown on St Stephen’s Day last year.
Anthony Hogg, 40, and his wife Georgina Hogg Moore, 39, were struck while crossing a road near Blanchardstown Shopping Centre at around 5.45 pm on 26 December 2024.
The couple, married with children, lived in the Whitestown area nearby.
Georgina Hogg Moore was pronounced dead at the scene while her husband Anthony was rushed to hospital, but passed away that night.
This morning, gardaí said they have arrested two people in relation to the fatal hit-and-run.
A man, aged 40, is currently detained at a Dublin garda station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
A woman aged in her 30s was also arrested. She is currently detained at a Dublin garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Dublin.
A Garda spokesperson said that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
