The Irish Sun understands that two other inmates were found unresponsive along with the dangerous prisoner on the A3 landing at Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison at 5pm.

All three are being treated in hospital.

Prison chiefs believe a bad batch of drugs made its way inside the jail.

The dangerous criminal is based on the protection landing, where he is separated from the general prison population for his own safety and that of others, at the jail.
