An investigation is under way into the death of a man in his 50s following an incident at a house in Co Dublin.

The man was injured in the incident at the property in Foxdene Drive in Balgaddy, shortly after 11pm last night.

He was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene at Foxdene Drive has been preserved and the investigation is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer at Lucan Garda Station.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out on the man’s body.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing and are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Foxdene Drive last night between 11pm and midnight, and who saw any activity which drew their attention to come forward.

They are also asking that any road users or pedestrians who may have video footage (including dash-cam) of the area at the time to contact Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
