They turned the screws to ban us from our peat bogs and our traditions, they turned the screws to make us reduce our cattle on our own lands. They buried our farmers under miles of red tape. And now they want to blanket thousands of acres of our farmland with solar plant glass deserts. This is the same set of geniuses responsible for making us build rural homes without fireplaces or chimneys. That took weeks to restore electricity to our communities after the storm earlier this year. That appears to want to foist half assed ‘green power’ subsidised ‘solar’ on us so we can keep paying some of the highest prices in Europe for electricity. Rural Ireland needs a break, stop inflicting this detached, bubble headed, crusty-urban ideology on us.
