BREAKING: Greek police have arrested Vladimir Plahotniuc, the pro-Russian shadow oligarch who ruled Moldova until he escaped the country in 2019. He stole $1 billion in a massive banking fraud scandal in 2014, when around 12% of Moldova’s GDP suddenly disappeared from the country’s banking system. It’s believed that Plahotniuc spent the last years hiding in Turkish-controlled northern Cyprus, but for some reason traveled to Athens a few days ago and was arrested by the Greek police on an Interpol Red Notice.
