LAWYERS for alleged Kinahan lieutenant Sean McGovern have faced “roadblocks” in getting information needed to advance arguments over his extradition and incarceration.

The Special Criminal Court heard that McGovern’s team had written to the Department of Justice and the Director of Public Prosecutions. But Keith Spencer BL, for the accused, said they are still awaiting the information they require from the authorities to make the argument.

McGovern was back before the Special Criminal Court this morning where he was served the book of evidence in relation to three charges he is facing over the murder of innocent granddad Noel ‘Duck Egg’ Kirwan in December 2016.

The court heard that the book of evidence with regard to the final two charges will be given to him on the next date.

The barrister for the prosecution said that they have been instructed that a “wide ranging” request for disclosure is being considered.
