Presidential hopeful Catherine Connolly TD was yesterday a bit fuzzy about her visit to Syria together with Wallace & Daly saying she had no meetings with any member of the tyrannous, barbaric Assad government. ( Of course, she also never deployed such terminology in relation to it nor spoke of Assad’s oppression). Well from recollection the usually vociferous TD also voiced no criticism of the atrocities of that government when in Syria or on her return to Ireland nor called for any action to be taken against the Assad regime by the Irish government.
