A substantial number of Gardaí assigned to Roads Policing are “openly hostile” to doing their jobs, according to a damning internal report. Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has described the report’s findings as “sobering”; The chairperson of the Policing and Community Safety Authority has described as “shocking” a report which shows that a substantial number of Gardaí assigned to Roads Policing are not doing their jobs and have no interest in doing them.
