BREAKING: Putin announces delivery of ‘Oreshnik’ missiles to Belarus During a meeting with Lukashenko, Putin stated that Russia had produced the first serially manufactured Oreshnik missile system, which has already been deployed to Russian forces. He also announced plans to transfer the system to Belarus. “A deployment site [for the Oreshnik in Belarus] is currently being selected,” Putin said. The Oreshnik is a new Russian non-nuclear, medium-range missile. According to Putin, just a few of these missiles can deliver an impact comparable to a nuclear explosion. However, there is no evidence to support this claim. The only known launch — aimed at the Yuzhmash factory in Dnipro — was non-lethal and carried no warhead.
