This “Kildare man”…No guilty plea, accuses his daughter of making it up and there were no mitigating factors. He abused his child for around 6 years [from age 6 to 11]. He “doesn’t accept” the Jury verdict. Taking all that into consideration…WHY DID HE GET FIVE AND A HALF YEARS? For putting his young daughter through a trial alone (which meant she had to give evidence in court) he should have had the book thrown at him. He was very supported in court…several people shook his hand before he was led away. The victim is only 15. The abuse started when her parents were separating and the father started sleeping in the child’s room. Well Written Suzanne.
