An investigation is under way into the death of a man at a property in Carrick-on-Suir in Co Tipperary in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were alerted at around 3.30am after the man was found unresponsive at the property in the Ravenswood estate. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Gardaí say they are attempting to establish the man’s last known movements and are carrying out door-to-door inquiries as well as checking CCTV footage from the area.

They have appealed for anyone with information to come forward, including any road users who were in the Cregg Road area between 8pm last night and 3.30am this morning.

Gardaí have asked anyone with camera footage (including dash-cam) to make it available to them.
