A YOUNG man has been charged with the murder of Irish Rail worker Ian Walsh.

Nathan Hanlon, 19, appeared before a special court sitting this afternoon.

Sergeant Denis Ryan of Clonmel gave evidence at Clonmel District Court of arrest, charge and caution.

Sgt Ryan told how he arrested Mr Hanlon, of Castleview, Ballyneale, Carrick on Suir, at his home on suspicion of murder.

The cop told the court that when later charged, the accused made no reply.
