Detectives are convinced a handful of people know exactly what happened to the child

GARDA Commissioner Drew Harris has previously admitted that in over 40 years as a police officer, he hasn’t witnessed anything like the case of nine-year-old Kyran Durnin.

Two people have been arrested and released, three houses have been searched, over 29,500 hours of CCTV has been seized and electronic devices have been analysed in efforts to solve the case.

However, garda are still scrambling to piece together exactly what happened to Kyran.

Detectives have established that it is at least three years since the Louth schoolboy was last seen alive in June, 2022.

missing person’s investigation was launched in August 2024, with gardai filing the report being told that the young lad was seen in Drogheda two days beforehand.

However, cops suspected he was probably dead after finding no evidence he was alive.

WHEN DID KYRAN ACTUALLY GO MISSING?

Next Saturday, August 30, marks the first anniversary since Kyran Durnin was officially reported missing by his granny Rhonda Byrne Tyson.

She spoke to Gardai but is not a suspect in the case.

The schoolboy’s mother Dayla Durnin, who is now living in England, told officers she doesn’t know Detectives have established that it is at least three years since Kyran was last seen alive.

He was last seen publicly at his school in Dundalk, Co Louth in late June 2022.

The family subsequently moved back to Drogheda and he was reported missing at the end of August 2024.

Gardai believe he was killed sometime between late June and early July of 2022.where he is or what happened to him.
