Just like the British, they’ve enthusiastically welcomed people from their former colonies along with immigrants from all over the world. I’ve spent a lot of time in Amsterdam over the years, and have always noticed that Dutch society is liberal in every sense of the word (sometimes too liberal; their well meaning tolerance of drug-taking and prostitution have opened a portal to predators such as hard-drug dealers and people-traffickers who operate under “fronts”, hidden in plain sight). Conservatives such as Geert Wilders were until recently very much on the fringes of Dutch society. But it seems the mood is changing. Ironically, mass-immigration and extreme liberalism has destroyed Dutch openness.
