Many young women in France have a “Subway shirt” for avoiding harassment on the train system. It has become a “reflex” to put on more clothing before getting on public Transport, even in summer. “Sometimes I even take the trousers and sweatshirt and put them over my dress.” Nearly 90% of women on public Transport claim to have been victims of harassment. “Already, I had men saying that I was a Prostitute. I was in a little skirt above the knee and a basic T-shirt a bit like this one.”
