A judge has warned a man of “very fine taste” who stole almost €1,500 of high value alcohol across three counties within days of each other he faces a spell behind bars unless he pays back every penny.

Judge Raymond Finnegan gave Fredy Manciu (39) the sternest of warnings at a sitting of Monaghan District Court as to what potentially awaits him following a two week shoplifting spree across Monaghan, Cavan and Louth.
