The funny thing is, that if Pearse had run for President I would have loudly said I was voting for him… because he’s head & shoulders above the other 3. I’ve told the story many times, that in 2016 as a young solicitor I was given the job of tracking everything Pearse said in the Dáil on tax exemptions for property funds…. I ended up agreeing entirely with him and quit my career a few years later. It’s just a pity he isn’t continuing the argument with the same venom now, given that the same fund structures are operating IPAS centres…. on the taxpayer’s dime ! Over the last few months, I met some brilliant Sinn Féin councillors – most of whom voted in support of nominating me or other candidates. If SF want to get into power they should be focusing 20% more on nationalism, 20% more on pro-small business, 20% more aggressively calling out crony corruption….. & 60% less on woke socialism. But they should also be doubling down on a clear path to United Ireland and/or a border up the Irish Sea. The older generations detest Sinn Féin because of the troubles etc….. the younger generations just want a house to raise a family.
