
A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man.
Karolina Kovacova, 24, has been charged with the murder of 47 year old Pavel Javorski at O’Callaghan’s Lane, Carrick-on-Suir Co Tipperary, on Saturday October 4.
Ms Kovacova, of O’Callaghan’s Lane, Carrick-on-Suir, was brought before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court on Monday.
The suspect was charged with the murder of Mr Javorski. Both the defendant and the victim are from the Czech Republic.
Detective Garda Ruairí Ryan gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution and said he arrested Ms Kovacova at 2.04pm on Monday.
He charged her at 2.47pm outside Clonmel Garda Station with the murder of Mr Pavorski and she made no reply when the charge was put to her after caution.
Garda Ryan said the service of a Czech interpreter was used when the charge was put to the defendant who also had the assistance of an interpreter in court.
Judge John O’Leary said Ms Kovacova could not apply for bail on a murder charge in the district court.
