
Barry Daly, who was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Doneraille, Co. Cork
Two people have been arrested following the discovery of a body in North Cork early yesterday morning.
The remains of Barry Daly, 44, were found at Rockview Terrace in Doneraile on Sunday – and now Gardaí have confirmed two men have been detained in connection with the investigation.
The men, one aged in his 20s and the other a juvenile in his late teens, are currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in Co. Cork.
A post-mortem examination of the deceased is due to take place at Cork University Hospital in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.
Authorities said they are “investigating all circumstances” and hope that witnesses with any information can assist the investigation.
Speaking yesterday, one resident in the area said that Mr Daly “was a one of a kind, a gentleman. Not a bad bone in his body.” Local TD John Paul O’Shea said: “This is a very tragic event that has happened in Doneraile. The town is reeling with the news of the death of this man.
