BREAKING: Gateshead grooming gang Five men have just been convicted for their role in the sexual exploitation of young girls in Gateshead. Codrin Dura, 27, Leonard Paun, 23, Bogdan Guguiman, 44, Klaudio Aleksiu, 28 and Stefan Ciuraru, 22, were each found guilty on Tuesday (14 October) of offences relating to the sexual exploitation of six girls in the Gateshead area between March 2015 and May 2019. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) North East said the victims, who were all under the age of 16 at the time of the offences, were given drugs, cigarettes or alcohol in exchange for sex. “For some of the victims, what began as a relationship with one person descended into them being passed between group members, where they were routinely abused while heavily intoxicated.” The men will be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court at a later date.
