Three Islamists have been arrested in Belgium for plotting “jihadist-inspired terrorist attacks” and the assassination of the Prime Minister During a raid on one of their apartments, Police found what appeared to be an improvised explosive device, shrapnel components, and a 3D printer used to manufacture bomb parts. Antwerp police said the suspects planned to use drones carrying homemade explosives for their “jihadist-inspired attacks”, with one of their intended targets being Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever. All of the detainees are reported to hold radical Islamist views. The suspects were born in 2001, 2002 and 2007. Two of them were being questioned by Federal police and were due to appear before an investigating judge on Friday, while the third suspect was released.
