Dublin City Council slammed for not issuing public apology to victim of rapist firefighter, 39, as DFB workers ‘fuming’

DUBLIN’S Lord Mayor has been urged to issue a public apology to the victim of rapist firefighter Terence Crosbie.

Councillor Mannix Flynn will table an emergency motion at tomorrow night’s Dublin City Council meeting.

He slammed the fact the council has yet to say sorry — branding the local authority as “cowards”.

Speaking to The Irish Sun on Sunday, he fumed: “Me, as a director of Dublin City Council and a public representative, won’t stand for this kind of crap.”

Sex beast Crosbie was this week banged up for between seven to nine years after being found guilty of raping a woman in a Boston hotel in March 2024.

The 39-year-old — who had denied the charge —  was in the US city to march in the St Patrick’s Day parade with his Dublin Fire Brigade colleagues.

SEX BEAST TO LAUNCH APPEAL

“Crosbie has refused to apologise to the victim and refuses to take any responsibility for his actions.

“The institution of the local authority has no right to remain silent on this matter.

“A message needs to be sent out by the local authority urgently that we do not tolerate this behaviour and that we sincerely apologise to the hurt inflicted and the pain on all of those impacted by this crime.”

Pervert Crosbie —  who is set to launch an appeal — told the judge at Thursday’s sentencing hearing how he “selflessly” served the citizens of Dublin for 18 years.

But Cllr Flynn told us: “The very idea that this gentleman could offer to the court testimony of his outstanding service to the city while convicted of rape is an absolute abomination.”

And he said: “It’s all too often that these kinds of things are pushed under the carpet. And that for some strange reason, sexual crime is treated in a very kind of different manner. And it’s all about people’s reputation.

VICTIM’S ‘STRUGGLE TO HEAL’

“People’s lives that are destroyed. Rather than saving someone’s life, this fire officer went out and destroyed somebody’s life. DCC has an obligation because he was a local authority staff member.

“The local authority here are cowards. They should stand up to this situation. I shouldn’t have to be putting in an emergency motion.”

Flynn said he is “really f***ing angry” and will not be silenced over the issue.

He raged: “We’re trying to make the city safe. How can you make a city safe when you don’t even acknowledge that your own officer is a rapist?”

On the night in question, Crosbie’s DFB colleague room-mate returned to their hotel with the victim, where they had consensual sex. She later woke up to Crosbie, a married dad of two, raping her.
