Here is why we need Christianity. Our countries are no accident. Europe is built on Christian norms and values, a centuries-old foundation that has given us freedom, justice, and humanity. From the Delta Works to our democracy, from charity to freedom of conscience: everything rests on that one, unwavering principle: every person is created in God’s image. Churches are starting to reappear, and the average atheist applauds the Christian norms and values they grew up with. The echo of that foundation still resonates in our laws, our care for the vulnerable, our Sunday rest. Christianity is not a museum piece; it is the living source of who we are. Without this foundation, there is no rule of law, no freedom, no true equality. But look around you… Christians are being slaughtered in Syria, Sudan, Nigeria, Congo, Pakistan, and Iran… and the West remains silent, too preoccupied with pronouns and the illusion that men can get pregnant. Children are pushed at school to make irreversible choices before they turn 18, while Christianity says: protect innocence. Borders are open to ideologies that despise our freedoms: homophobia, oppression of women, religious persecution, and we call that “inclusion.” This is not progress. This is a loss of our identity. Norms and values are not a straitjacket; they are our compass. They say: • Live freely, but do no harm to others. • Help your neighbor, but be wise. • Let children be children, not pawns in an ideological game. Europe, wake up. Restore your foundation. Cherish your Christian heritage, not out of nostalgia, but out of wisdom. For a house without a foundation collapses. For our children. For our freedom. For the truth. With hope and determination, A Dutchman who loves his country.
