Crosbie had been in the city to march in the St Patrick’s Day parade with his Dublin Fire Brigade colleagues

RAPE Crisis Ireland has urged Dublin City Council to “end their silence” over convicted fireman Terence Crosbie.
Executive director Dr Cliona Saidlear has demanded leadership from the local authority, who Crosbie was employed with when he carried out his evil crime.
The married father-of-two was jailed last month for a minimum of seven years after being found guilty of raping a woman in a Boston hotel in March 2024 after a night of drinking at the Black Rose bar in the US city.
The 39-year-old had been in the city to march in the St Patrick’s Day parade with his Dublin Fire Brigade colleagues.
Cllr Mannix Flynn brought forward a motion to DCC asking them to apologise to Crosbie’s victim on behalf of the people of Dublin and Dublin Fire Brigade.
But Lord Mayor of Dublin Ray McAdam rejected it at the last council meeting, citing legal proceedings under way with Crosbie appealing the court decision.
