Posted by Judge Liddy, in delivering his verdict, said there was little to dispute how the incident had undoubtedly been “very upsetting” for the trio’s elderly victim when coming home to “find his house ransacked”.
He subsequently held off on sentencing and remanded all three on continuing bail to a sitting of Cavan District Court on April 23 next year for the purposes of a probation and welfare reports.
Pedro Costa (18), Virginia Road, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan and Dallan Cusack (19), Kilmore Willows, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan were charged with burglary at Aghaloughan, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan following the break-in on April 21 this year.
