Sweden to purchase missiles with a range of up to 2,000 km in case of war with Russia Sweden is considering acquiring cruise and ballistic missiles with ranges of up to 2,000 km, capable of reaching targets deep inside Russia (Stockholm to Moscow is about 1,200 km). According to Chief of Defence Staff Karl-Johan Edström, these missiles would be used if Russia attacks NATO and Article 5 on collective defense is invoked. As the Chief of the General Staff of Sweden stated, Finland already possesses such weapons, and Sweden wants to have the same capabilities.
