19 December 1945. John Amery (aged 33) was hanged for treason. He had made pro-Nazi radio broadcasts from Germany. His trial at the Old Bailey lasted only 8 minutes. No jury was called and no witnesses were cross-examined. He was tried under the 1351 Treason Act.
