Investigation launched after woman’s body found in Tipperary

An investigation is under way following the discovery of a woman’s body in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

The discovery was made near the Holy Year Cross, around 2km south of the town, shortly before 3pm yesterday afternoon.

The services of the Office of the State Pathologist have been requested.

Gardaí have said that a post-mortem examination on the woman’s body will determine the course of their investigation.

The local coroner has also been notified.

Members of the Garda Technical Bureau are currently examining the scene.
