As part of Operation “Domino,” Italian police and financial authorities have arrested or issued warrants for nine suspects, including the head of the Association of Palestinians in Italy. Investigators say he led a Hamas cell in the country and built a network that was presented as humanitarian but in fact allegedly served terrorist purposes. Other suspects are also accused of raising millions of euros for Hamas. Prosecutors in Genoa seized assets worth €8 million. According to police, the funds were channeled, among others, to organizations under the direct control of Hamas. Two of the nine suspects are abroad, and international arrest warrants have been issued for them.
