A 46-year-old woman has been remanded in custody accused of helping to commission the gang-related murder of a 24-year-man in Dublin almost nine years ago.

Jamie Tighe Ennis, from Artane, was shot dead at Moatview Avenue in Coolock on 28 October 2017.

Ciara Nolan, with an address in Birmingham in England, but originally from Artane, was extradited from the UK yesterday.

She appeared before Judge Treasa Kelly, at Dublin District Court, charged under section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 with facilitating a criminal organisation in the commission of the murder of Mr Tighe Ennis, between 27-28 October 2017.

Detective Sergeant Domhnall O’Connell told Judge Kelly that Ms Nolan was arrested at Dublin Airport at 5.40pm and “made no reply” when charged an hour-and-a-half later.

He said that because the case related to a criminal organisation and a murder, bail could only be raised in the High Court.

Ms Nolan was remanded in custody to appear again on 14 January.

Judge Kelly noted that the Director of Public Prosecutions has directed “trial on indictment,” and that a book of evidence has yet to be served.

Defence solicitor Damien Coffey handed in a statement of his client’s means, and Judge Kelly held that the accused was a suitable candidate for free legal aid. There was no garda objection.

Mr Tighe Ennis was walking home from a nearby pub with a group of friends when he was shot twice by a gunman at around 2.20am. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the 14th victim of the Hutch-Kinahan feud.
