One source told us the gunman had fallen over in the pub and had been laughed at

A MASKED thug who burst into a pub waving a gun was thwarted by punters who threw a bar stool at him.

The bungling hitman targeted O’Shea’s 79 Inn in Ballyfermot, Dublin, at around 9pm on Saturday.

The man wearing a balaclava stormed into the busy gastro pub with the weapon drawn.

His intended target escaped after a bar stool was hurled at the would-be assassin.

The gunman then allegedly fled the boozer.

It’s understood the incident occurred after a verbal row earlier in the evening.

But punters were unimpressed and a bar stool was chucked at him.

Gardai told The Irish Sun that their enquiries are “ongoing”.
