Sussex Police received reports from concerned pub staff on Friday night

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in a busy city centre pub.

Cops have arrested a man, 41, after the alleged attack in Brighton, East Sussex, on Friday evening.

Sussex Police confirmed it was contacted by concerned staff at The Market Inn pub on Market Street.

The force confirmed a 41-year-old local man has been arrested for sexual assault.

He has since been bailed as the probe into the alleged attack continues.

An urgent appeal for information has been launched, with officers urging anyone who may have witnessed the alleged assault to come forward.
