Posted by GARDAI are investigating an alleged serious sexual assault of a girl by a number of other children in Dublin.
Five juveniles were arrested in connection with the probe on Tuesday and quizzed over the alleged offence.
The children have since been released without charge and gardai are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The victim, reported to be a schoolgirl, was allegedly attacked by a number of other children in Dublin city centre.
She was interviewed by gardai after alleging that she was the victim of a serious sexual assault.
The investigation is being conducted by a garda divisional Protective Services Unit.
