In Irish folklore, the robin is deeply connected to death, the soul & the unseen world

There is a belief that when a robin appears after someone has passed, it may be a loved one returning

  1. We have two robins living in the hedge near the bird feeder. They follow me around the garden, the bolder one perching inches from my eye and occasionally eating from my hand. I also saw five of them coming out of a crack in our neighbours’ brick shed.
