ELEVEN gardai are currently suspended over allegations of domestic violence and coercive control.
They include Detective Garda Trevor Bolger.
He received a three-month suspended sentence last month for assaulting ex-wife Margaret Loftus, a former garda.
Bolger is facing an internal disciplinary inquiry following his conviction, which could result in him being sacked.
The Garda domestic abuse suspensions were revealed in December’s report from the Garda Commissioner, Justin Kelly, to the Policing and Community Safety Authority.
It also disclosed that nine other officers were suspended as of December 1 for alleged assaults.
