Half of the voters are in favour of a ban on full-covering garments such as the niqab and burqa. This is shown in a new survey by pollsters Indikator Opinion for Swedish Radio News. Among voters who support the governing parties and the Sweden Democrats, 76 percent are in favour of a ban. Older people are more in favour of a ban, while younger people are against to a greater extent.

One man, who we are calling Muhammed, is himself a Muslim, living in Kista in northern Stockholm, and says that the burqa and niqab are expressions of the oppression of women.
