Teen shot in head and back after shotgun attack in north Dublin

A garda investigation is under way after an 18-year-old was shot in the head and back in north Dublin earlier today.

The gun attack happened in the St Margaret’s Park area of Ballymun about 12.35pm on Sunday.

The victim is understood to have been struck by pellets fired from a shotgun and suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The spokesperson said: “At around 12:35pm, gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a shooting incident at St Margaret’s Park.

“Anyone who may have camera footage (including dash-am) and was in the area of St Margaret’s Park between 11.30am and 1.30pm is asked to make this material available to investigating gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
