Posted by A Nigerian man who came to Ireland illegally and got a job with working with vulnerable Irish people in a nursing home. One of these people was a 73 year old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s. Adeniji was convicted of r*ping her. Soon after, 21 more victims made complaints to the gardaí, claiming Adeniji had abused them during his 16 year employment at the nursing home. Many of these women were not listened to when they initially complained. Social workers now believe there are many more victims, with files on over 300 women being examined for indicators of abuse. However, authorities say it will be difficult to prosecute all of his crimes because many of his victims either have dementia or are now deceased. Emmanuel Adeniji is currently due to be released from prison in 2031.
